Step 07 of 09
Where a printed sheet becomes a pack.
Die-cutting, creasing, foiling, laser perforation and gluing, all under the same roof.
Finishing is where a printed sheet becomes a pack, and where jobs most often go out of house and lose a week. Ours does not leave the building.
Die-cutting and creasing to your dieline. Foiling and embossing where the brief calls for it. Laser perforation for tear strips and windows. Gluing and folding to a pack that arrives ready to fill rather than ready to assemble.
Keeping it in-house has an obvious benefit and a less obvious one. The obvious one is time: no transport, no queue at somebody else's factory, no third party deciding your priority. The less obvious one is accountability. When the printing and the finishing are done by the same company, nobody can blame the other end of the process, so the standard has to hold the whole way through.
Unusual finishes are worth a conversation early rather than late. Most are achievable; a few will fight the structure or the stock, and it is far cheaper to find that out at the concept stage than after plates are made.

Finished artwork, a sketch on the back of a spec sheet, or just a deadline you're worried about. All of them are a fine place to start.
