Step 02 of 09
It has to work folded, not just on screen.
Structural and graphic design in-house, or clean artwork handling if your own agency is doing it.
We work either way. If you have an agency, we take their artwork and make it printable without quietly redrawing their intent. If you do not, we design the pack ourselves, structure and graphics together, which usually produces a better result because the two are decided at the same time.
Structural design is where the money is. A carton that nests better on a pallet, or drops a millimetre of board without losing strength, pays for itself across a run. Graphic design that ignores the structure produces the opposite: type across a crease, a barcode on a curve, a varnish that stops at the wrong fold.
Everything is drawn against real dielines and real press limits, not a template. You see a proof of the actual pack, folded, before anything is committed to plate.
Where an agency is involved we keep a clean line between their work and ours. We flag what needs to change and why, and we do not change it unilaterally. It is their design; our job is to make it survive the press.

Finished artwork, a sketch on the back of a spec sheet, or just a deadline you're worried about. All of them are a fine place to start.
