Sustainability
The chain starts before we do.
Every sheet that comes into this building has a history. Chain of custody is how you prove it, and it is the same argument we make about print: fewer handovers, and somebody accountable at each one.
Sustainability in print is mostly claimed and rarely evidenced. The claims are easy: recyclable, responsibly sourced, eco-friendly. None of those words mean anything on their own, and none of them can be checked by the person buying the packaging.
Certification exists because of that gap. Chain of custody certification traces the fibre in a sheet back through every company that handled it, to a forest managed to a published standard. It is audited by somebody independent, it carries a number, and the number can be looked up. That is a different kind of statement to a leaf icon on a website.
The same logic runs through the rest of what we do. Waste is designed out at the imposition stage rather than apologised for afterwards, because a better layout means fewer sheets for the same job. Structures that use less board are cheaper as well as lighter, so the commercial and the environmental argument point the same way more often than people expect.
There is a less obvious part of this, and it is the part we are proudest of. The single biggest source of waste in packaging print is not offcuts or ink, it is the reprint: a job that comes back because the colour drifted, the varnish sat wrong or nobody noticed until the pallet was on a loading bay. A reprint doubles the board, doubles the plates, doubles the transport and throws the first run in a skip.
It is an unusual habit for a printer and we have never met another one who does it. It is also the cheapest quality control there is, and the greenest, because the waste you prevent costs nothing to dispose of.
Ask us for the certificates. If a supplier will not show you theirs, that tells you something.
What we hold to
Four things we will not trade away.
-
01
Craft
Master printers, time-served. The people who set the job are the people who ran it last time, and they can tell you why.
-
02
Partnership
We don't see you as a customer. We see you as a partner in print, which mostly means telling you things earlier than is comfortable.
-
03
Straight answers
If there is a cheaper route we say so. If what you are asking for will not survive the supply chain, we say that too, while it is still cheap to change.
-
04
Continuity
Family-run since 1991, second generation on the floor. The same firm will still be answering the phone on the reprint in five years.
The measurable part
Numbers, or it did not happen.
Every figure here is one we can put a document behind. Where a figure is missing, it is missing because we have not measured it yet, and we would rather say so than round it up.

Certification
Audited.
Not asserted.
Anyone can say they care about this. A certificate number means somebody independent came and checked.
Traces certified fibre from responsibly managed forests through every company that handles it, so an FSC claim on the pack can be checked back to source. Our licence code can be verified on the public FSC certificate database.
Traces certified fibre through every company that handles it, back to a forest managed to a published standard. Our certificate covers the purchase of PEFC-certified paperboard and its conversion, printing and sale as PEFC-certified packaging, using the physical separation method. Certified by Interface NRM, audited annually, valid to April 2030.
Certified by Amtivo (Ireland). Defines how quality is checked, recorded and made repeatable, which is what lets us hold a colour standard across repeat runs. Certified since 2016 and subject to annual assessment.
